According to the newspaper, Marcegaglia is accused of not having paid VAT for 800 thousand euros in relation to invoices issued by another company, Alba Tech srl based in Chioggia, in favor of Albarella srl based in Gazoldo degli Ippoliti , of which the Mantuan entrepreneur is the legal representative.

The invoices refer to cleaning and purification works carried out on the island of Albarella by Alba Tech itself in 2007, a company that – according to the accusations – lacks equipment, capital and capital goods. The prosecution’s accusation is based on an investigation by the Guardia di Finanza that concerned the entrepreneur’s tax returns from 2015 to 2018. “We are able to demonstrate that the accusations made against Emma Marcegaglia, referring to only one procurement, are unfounded. For the Guardia di Finanza and the Revenue Agency, everything is regular ”, replied Sergio Genovesi, lawyer of the former president of Confindustria.
