Assets exceeding one billion, total income of over 60 million, support to deal with the emergency and adhesion to the Bper capital increase. The Sardinia Foundation gives the go-ahead for the final balance sheet for 2020. The steering committee, chaired by Antonello Cabras has approved the overall reporting of the activity carried out last year by the banking foundation which has a significant presence, among others, in the inside the Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, of which he is the second shareholder behind the Mef, in Bper in the F2i fund.

Budget and pandemic
The budget approved by the Steering Committee, (in which Monica Maleddu, Valeria Sipala and Giulio Steri were appointed for the reconstitution of the number of members of the body envisaged by the Statute) also takes into account the economic, social and health context of last year. And of the crisis (the effects of which are still ongoing) that has pushed both institutional and social and economic subjects to change their programs and strategies. “In this scenario – writes the Foundation in the document accompanying the approval of the financial statements -, the Foundation of Sardinia has made its choices having as its primary objective the fight against the health crisis ».
The guidelines followed
Two main fronts followed. Strengthening the regional health system (with the purchase of machinery and personal protective equipment to be allocated to hospitals and regional health facilities); and for the support of the projects of the beneficiaries with an openness to a remodeling of the projects and to incentive actions of the projects in the health and social sectors, «considered peculiar in the midst of the health emergency».
Goals and heritage
At the same time, the activity “aimed at pursuing economic and financial objectives” continued. With positive results. “Despite the complexities caused by the health emergency, in fact, the economic and financial situation for the year 2020 showed total income of 62.4 million against a total of assets exceeding one billion (1.081 million of euros) – the document still reads -. The result achieved with this management has made it possible for the current year to allocate a total amount of 23.8 million euros to funds for disbursement activities in favor of the regional territory, of which 18.7 million divided between traditional sectors of intervention concerning Art, activities and cultural heritage – Scientific and technological research – Volunteering, philanthropy and charity – Public health, preventive and rehabilitative medicine – Local development and local social housing – School education ».
