Roman Abramovich confirmed recent rumors about his possible decision to sell Chelsea. “In the current situation, I have made the decision to sell the Club, as I believe that this is in the best interest of the Club, the fans, the employees, as well as the sponsors and partners”, reads the statement with which Abramovich has made his announcement.
The Russian tycoon added that he had instructed his team to create a charitable foundation that would collect all the proceeds that will come from the sale of Chelsea, in favor of “all the victims of Ukraine”.
Abramovich specified in the press release that the Chelsea sale “will not be very fast, but it will follow the right process. I will not ask for any loan to be repaid. For me it is never about business or money, but pure passion for football and for football. club”.
