For tourism, the operation received starts and the cruise sector is doing well

Tourism raises its head. It was one of the sectors most penalized by the pandemic, but it is also the one that can count on the general great desire to return to normality, to holidays and leisure. And the second appointment of the “The Alphabet of the Future” tour, organized by the GNN newspapers with the support of Intesa Sanpaolo, is dedicated to tourism.

“Tourism is a central sector in several respects. It is for the human dimension, that is, the legitimate expectation that each of us cultivates to return to travel after the limitations imposed by the health emergency. And it is for the economic one, which must grow significantly if we want to overcome the obvious paradox that afflicts Italy on holidays: that is, being the “most beautiful country in the world” – as the slogan repeated over and over -, but not knowing how to support the tourism industry adequately, with the result of losing ground compared to competitors »explains Luca Ubaldeschi, editorial manager of the tour and director of the 19th century.

With him, at today’s appointment in Trieste, Molo IV, Agorà room, at 5.30 pm, there will be Massimo Giannini, director of La Stampa and editorial director of the GNN newspapers, Omar Monestier, director of Il Piccolo and Messaggero Veneto, and Roberta Giani, co-director of Il Piccolo. Numerous guests will alternate on stage and in thematic panels, starting with the Minister for Public Administration, Renato Brunetta. And then: Sergio Emidio Bini, regional councilor for tourism; Dimitri Cacovich, beekeeper and winemaker; Enrico Degrassi, founder of Ikon Digital Farm; Roberto Dipiazza, mayor of Trieste; Doriana and Massimiliano Fuksas, architects and designers; Francesco Mariani, CEO of Ttp Trieste passenger terminal; Leonardo Massa, Italy managing director of Msc Cruises; Francesca Nieddu, Veneto East and Friuli Venezia Giulia regional director of Intesa Sanpaolo; Diego Panzeri, researcher at the National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics; the naval engineering students of the Audace Sailing Team, who run the Eco sailing laboratory. Also planned is an intervention in the metaverse with Stex Auer.

Trieste is a special observatory for tourism, in particular that linked to the world of cruises. In fact, the city is experiencing a great revival as an alternative stopover to Venice. Together with Monfalcone, at the end of the year it will record the record of over two hundred touches, while passengers could touch 500,000 units. Trieste already in 2021 recorded more passengers (240 thousand) than in 2019.
