Appointment on 10 and 11 April for a double race. Formula E returns to Rome for the third and fourth rounds of season seven on a track with a brand new layout. The 24 riders on the grid (12 teams present) will be supported by their respective teams who, given the restrictions due to the pandemic, will travel with a maximum of 30 people.
How is the layout of the track
The Rome-e-Prix will take place in the spectacular historic district of Eur. The new city route takes up some parts of the previous one, but it is even more technical, tortuous and in some places the undulations of the track will make the overtaking attempts spectacular. It represents the right mix of fast corners and more treacherous and guided sections. In total, there are nineteen curves, for a total length of the circuit of 3,385 meters, the second longest ever in the history of Formula E.

Along the route you will touch the Palazzo dei Congressi, Piazza Guglielmo Marconi and, new this year, the iconic Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana, also known as the “square Colosseum”. Part of the circuit will also flank the Parco del Ninfeo. There are fast sections with long straights that lead to a corner that has an exit where you will undergo another explosive acceleration, then there are also narrower and slower sections in which the pilots will have to pay close attention. For this reason, it will be a great compromise for drivers and teams also in terms of setup and strategy, given that the circuit has different requirements in terms of energy consumption.
How are the Gen2 Evo single-seaters
The Gen2 Evo electric single-seaters essentially introduce two important innovations: the 18-inch Michelin tires (a monogamous tire suitable for both dry and wet) which are not covered by the wheel arches and the new chassis with modifications to the front and rear wings. ‘addition of the “shark fin” above the engine. All drivers will use the same chassis while each team will be free to independently design and develop both the electrical components and parts of the powertrain.
What Brembo technicians say
Brembo has been present on all Gen2 Formula E single-seaters from season 5 (year 2019) through Spark Racing Technology (French factory that has been producing monocoque and other important elements of single-seaters from the 2018/2019 season). Therefore, for the third consecutive season, it supplies the entire braking system to all 24 Gen2 single-seaters in the championship. The system includes: carbon discs and pads, 4-piston aluminum monobloc calipers, single-stage tandem pump and aluminum bell. All these components have been designed to have maximum performance in the greatest possible containment of weights.
