The reassuring indications of the low hospitalization rate caused by the Omicron variant supported equity markets today. The Ftse Mib index closed + 2.16% at 26,498 points. It should be remembered that this week Piazza Affari will also negotiate regularly on Wednesday 8 December (Feast of the Immaculate Conception).
Among the blue chips of Piazza Affari, a positive day for oil stocks (+ 2.35% ENI) in the wake of the positive tone of oil. Among the banks in evidence Unicredit (+ 2.7% to 11.43 euros) which on Thursday 9 December will present the new strategic plan. Today, JP Morgan analysts promoted the stock to overweight with tp up to € 15. Banco BPM also did well (+ 3.02%) on which JPM itself raised the target price from 3.1 to 3.2 euros. The best overall among the banks, however, was Intesa Sanpaolo with + 3.1% at € 2.213.
Utilities also did very well with + 3.6% by Italgas, + 2.92% by Terna and + 2.46% by Snam. Strong purchases also on Enel (+ 3.02% to 6.723 euros) which on Friday evening announced the completion of the sale of the 50% stake held in Open Fiber, obtaining a capital gain of over 1.76 billion.
Meanwhile, Enel announced that it has obtained authorization from the Australian Energy Regulator to operate in the retail energy sector.
