The Consob board decides on Generali. According to rumors, the use of a consultation was voted today by a majority. However, the questions posed to the Authority by the lawyers of Francesco Gaetano Caltagirone’s group on the legitimacy of the choice of an outgoing board of directors to propose the list for the new board are not addressed to the market.
The call for attention
The text passed would have recovered and reworked the attention call, examined and in a first version rejected by the Consob board in recent weeks.
However, it would be a consultation on broader topics. Therefore, the choice does not seem to contribute to shedding immediate clarity on the affair that sees the shareholders of Generali opposing: on the one hand Mediobanca, which aims to have the list proposed by the board of directors, and Caltagirone, Del Vecchio and Fondazione Crt who are instead opposed.
