Genoa Boat Show already sold out: “The big names in full force with a thousand brands”

The 61st edition of the Genoa Boat Show is already sold out in terms of spaces for exhibitors, which will take place between 16 and 21 September next, organized, as usual, by Confindustria nautica, with the support of the Municipality of Genoa and the Liguria Region. An edition, like last year, in the name of anti-Covid security measures that have allowed the event to be the only nautical fair held in Europe in 2020.

The boat show 2021, however, seems to start off on the right foot in terms of attendance: the organizers count more than a thousand boats (including projects) and almost a thousand brands on show; exhibition spaces increased by 14%, despite the construction sites surrounding the area (for the construction of the Levante waterfront by Renzo Piano); an area of ​​200 thousand square meters, of which 85% outdoors.

All the big names were present

But not only. Why the sold out totaled from July also gives to the show the return of all the great names in boating to its docks, even of those who have not been present for years: Baglietto, Ferretti, Cranchi Yachts, Absolute, Arcadia yachts and Sirena Marine. In addition to confirmations of top players, in the motor yacht sector, which had already been present in Genoa in recent years: Sanlorenzo, Azimut Benetti, Fipa, Amer Yachts, Bluegame, Pardo Yachts, Rio Yachts, Sessa Marine and, from abroad , Princess and Sunseeker. But there will also be large Italian and foreign shipyards in the world of sailing.

The salon this year will have a completely transformed layout, thanks to the demolition of the promenade wall that divided two quays (C and E), which made it possible to create a single-storey one without solution of continuity between pavilion B and the so-called new dock. In this way the available land area increased by 14%. But also the surface in the water shows a growth of 19% thanks to the completion of the mooring dock for boats up to 15 meters, the use of new jetties and the Waterfront marina, infrastructured by Amico & Co for yachts up to 100 meters.

In short, that of 2021 will be an already renovated salon, waiting to arrive at 2023, the year in which the completion of the works on the Levante waterfront is expected (which will ensure 200 more berths): at that moment, the president of Confindustria nautica, Saverio Cecchi, «ours will become the most beautiful show in the world».
