Google is developing the second-generation Tensor chip for next year’s Pixel 7 series-Google Google

by admin

The Pixel 6 series is officially on sale today. The biggest highlight of the machine is the Tensor chip developed by Google. With the help of Samsung, the Tensor chip is optimized for Google’s extensive use of machine learning, in some cases speeding up existing functions, or implementing functions that were not previously possible on mobile phones.

While studying the applications contained in Pixel 6, the APK Insight team at 9to5Google discovered a new codename “Cloudripper” related to Pixel. In this regard, 9to5Google believes that this is not the codename of Pixel 7 or Pixel 7 Pro next year, but the substrate or developer version shared by these two phones. Similar codenames appeared earlier this year. The codenames for Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are “Slider”.

Check the previous file, “Cloudripper” is connected to the second generation Tensor chip, the model is “GS201”. Compared with the “GS101” in Pixel 6, this chip seems to be a whole new generation, which indicates that the number of models may increase by 100 every year. Mishaal Rahman also found this “GS201” in the newly public Android code modification.

Judging from the inclusion of Cloudripper in Pixel-related applications at this stage, it seems that the company is very likely to prepare for the use of this second-generation Google Tensor GS201 chip in next year’s flagship product Pixel 7. It is not clear what enhancements we should expect from the GS201 chip, because no hardware details have been found.
