Green light for the Genoa breakwater from the Special Public Works Committee

The Special Committee of the Higher Council of Public Works of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility approved the Genoa breakwater project; a step that will allow the Port System Authority of Genoa and Savona to start the tender procedures for the award of the work.

Priority work

The new breakwater of Genoa is one of the ten priority works of the Government for the project of which an accelerated approval procedure is envisaged as provided for by the new simplification legislation (Legislative Decree 77/21).

The deadlines, explains a note from the ministry, were respected “and in nine months all the opinions were acquired, including the Via (environmental impact assessment, ndr) and the opinion of the Higher Council of Public Works, and the Conference of Services has ended. In the past, these phases took up to four years, on average ».

Satisfaction of the Mims

This, affirms Minister Enrico Giovannini, “is the clear demonstration that the efforts made in recent months to launch the National Recovery and Resilience Plan are bearing the hoped-for results and that the allocation of substantial financial resources to projects in able to make our country more competitive and sustainable are following the phases of approval and award of the works ».

In June the invitation letters

By June 1st, Mims informs, letters of invitation will be sent for the award of the remaining phases of design and construction of the work for an amount of 950 million euros.
