On the afternoon of January 11, Hisense released China‘s first fully self-developed 8K AI image quality chip. This is Hisense’s fifth-generation image quality chip and the most integrated and feature-rich generation of chips since Hisense developed chips. According to Hisense’s information, the chip model is HV8107, which has been mass-produced and used in the MiniLED TV 85U9H released by Hisense at the CES 2022 exhibition. In the future, this chip will be used in flat-panel TVs, film and television monitors, laser TVs, medical display devices, etc.

In addition to supporting the highest 8K resolution image quality, this AI image quality chip also adds AI image quality processing capabilities.

The chip supports accurate reconstruction of 33 million pixels, which can smoothly and gradually increase the picture to 16bit, showing more details in the picture; through AI object detection, high-precision motion estimation compensation is performed.

In terms of color control, by supporting 48bit color depth; 7897 color point control, accurate color enhancement is achieved, and AI detection for human faces can achieve skin color enhancement.

In terms of partition control, this chip supports 26,880 partition controls, with stronger contrast and darker parts of the picture. In the future, it can also be adapted to MiniLED products with multiple partitions.

Hisense said,The related algorithms and technologies of this chip in the field of video processing are fully autonomous and controllable, and it can match the highest-standard video streams and achieve full coverage of 2K4K8K, breaking the technical barriers in the field of image quality processing subdivisions for Japanese and Korean companies.
