Renewed in 2023 (with an eye on its bigger 750 cc brother), Honda’s Forza 350 (6,390 euros) is defined by the Japanese scooter manufacturer as Sports GT: with two 15 and 14 inch wheels it is halfway between the high wheels (the Sh with 16″ rims, to stay at Honda) and low wheels, with 14″ rims and large under-seat compartments. Among the strings to its bow are the comfort of a spacious saddle, as well as the saddle pad (two full-face helmets fit inside), and the availability of a lively engine, always ready to respond and economical in consumption, which allows you to tackle the highway in serenity.

Almost 30 hp of power. In fact, the Forza 350 features the single-cylinder engine introduced in 2021 with 330 cc and 29.2 hp. The chassis features a tubular steel frame which gives the Forza 350 easy handling. The radiator is in front of the fuel tank to centralize the masses, and for the same reason the battery is located between the tank and the underseat compartment. The weight with a full tank is 186 kg, easily manageable thanks to the saddle located just 780 mm from the ground. The telescopic fork has 33 mm stanchions and is associated with a swingarm made from a single aluminum casting, coupled with double shock absorbers with adjustable spring preload in five positions.

Connected to smartphone. Last year, the standard HSVC (Honda Smartphone Voice Control) system was introduced in the Forza 350: with a Bluetooth hands-free system in the helmet you can make calls, consult the weather forecast, navigate and even read messages and write with voice commands. Unfortunately the 5″ TFT only shows the call and message symbols and everything is done with audio messages; furthermore, the dedicated appendix fixed to the left block hinders maneuvering a bit, when the handlebar is rotated to the maximum to take advantage of the reduced turning radius (2.4 metres).

How is it going. The riding position is natural, with the handlebars close to the torso, plenty of space on the saddle, a little less on the footrests, divided by the full-bodied central tunnel; almost all riders manage to put their feet on the ground, also because the saddle is tapered in the front portion. Starting is keyless: the system also allows access to the underseat and the tank compartment. The presence of the electric windshield is striking, adjustable over a range of 180 mm with the button in the left block: placed all the way up, it protects well from the air and bad weather, all the way down is, however, perfect for the city (and for cooling off in the summertime). In the glove compartment in the rear of the shield, which is very deep and physically closed by the steering lock, there is a USB-C socket for charging the smartphone (optional options include a matching 45-litre top box). From the first opening of the throttle, you are surprised by the liveliness of the single-cylinder, the same one that equips the best-selling Sh350: the response is ready and the engine continues to push decisively up to around 100 km/h, then continuing more gradually. If, however, you want to take a walk, the Forza 350 is docile, never jerks, and follows the indications of the right knob perfectly: in short, you move in a supplesse naturally. In the city, potholes don’t scare the front, while the rear tends to be a bit abrupt in its responses; on the other hand, in fast corners, the Japanese scooter is solid and never pitches. On the motorway you travel at 130 km/h with the engine at around 7 thousand rpm, with a margin of around 2 thousand rpm for overtaking heavy vehicles or to get out of trouble in some potentially dangerous situation. In conclusion, the consumption item: in our test, with a lot of ring roads and motorways, we detected an average of around 31 km/l, even better than that declared by the company (29.4 km/litre in the average Wmtc cycle); with the 11.7 liter tank, it means that you can travel over 350 km before seeing the petrol station.
