by admin

iFixit has just completed the initial teardown of the highly anticipated iPad mini 6 tablet. Except for the same A15 Bionic chip (slightly lower frequency) as the iPhone 13 series smartphones,iFixit also mentioned the “modular port” and the so-called “scrolling jelly screen” issues that everyone is concerned about in a short video shared on Wednesday. It is worth mentioning that the USB-C connector on the new iPad mini is easier to remove than the previous generation.

Although there are rumors, Apple is considering introducing a similar modular and easy-to-replace design for the iPad mini’s battery. But the disassembly of iFixit shows that the battery of this generation of iPad mini 6 is still glued to the chassis.

As for the so-called “scrolling jelly effect”, iFixit pointed out that similar defects in LCD and OLED panels are not uncommon. In contrast, the iPad mini 6 is more serious.

Although it has not yet received an official answer from Apple, iFixit speculates that it may be related to the special circuit placement design of the iPad mini 6 screen.

It is expected that in the next few days, iFixit will conduct a more in-depth and comprehensive hardware disassembly analysis of the iPad mini 6. And compared with the old model (iPad mini 5), iFixit claims that the 2021 model has a higher repairability score-from 2 points to 3 points (out of 10 points).
