In Matera Ondatel wins the challenge of numbers

by admin

It is a challenge of change in Matera two brothers, second generation entrepreneurs, 12 years ago, decided to diversify the family business and invest in a highly innovative sector: ICT. And they won. A continuous growth, which has not stopped even with the pandemic for Cinzia and Eustachio Papapietro, 39 and 37, determined to explore the frontiers of digital transformation to innovate, improve and grow in all areas related to Information and Communication Technology.

It all started in 2005. At the time the two brothers were 23 and 20 years old and were preparing to work in the Matera family business that deals with industrial and civil plant engineering. In one year they realized that they want to run alone, strong in the same vocation for enterprise as their father Pasquale, but in an unstoppable desire for autonomy and to try their hand at other industrial fields as well. Thus, precisely in the city of the Sassi, the Papapietro brothers founded the Ondatel company, a strategic and operational consultancy company in innovative sales systems, with the aim of establishing itself as an Italian leader in commercial and customer management services.

An objective that they manage to achieve in a short time with a significant growth that leads to the birth of other companies operating in contiguous sectors such as software production, marketing and teleselling. A continuous challenge for the two Papapietro brothers who today see them at the top of a group of companies made up of five companies that are proposed on the market with the “Solida” brand and an offer of advanced integrated services conceived from an “end- to-end “. They operate between Basilicata, Puglia and Veneto with over 300 resources employed, an average age of 35, 60% women, and a turnover of 10 million.

“It is first of all important to reconfigure our country by equalizing the possibilities of access to opportunities not only between men and women, but also between young and old and between North and South -, underlines Eustachio Papapietro who looks ahead -. One of the most serious problems is the bureaucracy. A great burden especially in the South. We need to modernize and streamline the administrative structure: too many choices are dictated only by the need for consensus, too many veto powers, too many bureaucratic constraints and too little culture of efficiency and planning ».

But all this is not enough to stop them and to involve and invest in other young people, like them, strongly oriented towards the business culture. Hence the birth of Ivert, a software development company that has started the process for the certification of some patents related to IT security and control and surveillance systems and the blockchain. “It is up to us young entrepreneurs to help design that new country that will emerge from the post Covid crisis – reiterates Cinzia Papapietro -: if we want the company to be recognized as a key factor in generating economic development and social progress, we must carry on, more than others, projects and proposals capable of supporting it “.
