The asset management industry closed the second quarter of the year with total deposits of 21.5 billion, less than the 30 collected in the previous three months, but which still brings the balance from the beginning of the year beyond the 51 billion threshold. According to the statistics released by Assogestioni, the main contribution to the result came from open-end funds which brought in dowry 17.1 billion, while portfolio management stopped at 3.1 billion. At the end of June, assets reached a new historical record reaching 2,520 billion, managed mainly by collective management (51.2%).
Open-end funds
The category that raised the most was that of equities, but with a decrease compared to the end of March (8.4 compared to 13.1 billion). However, the products that have performed better since the beginning of the year remain (21.5 billion). The most significant growth in flows compared to the previous quarter was obtained by the balanced ones (from 4.3 to 7.7 billion), but also the bonds and flexible positions, whose red is less gloomy, improved the positions (from -2.7 billion to the current -918 million). Lastly, monetary prices returned to negative territory, going from 1.4 billion to – 969 million.

The societies
Among the leaders in the sector, Intesa Sanpaolo achieved the best result with deposits of 3.6 billion, followed closely by BlackRock (3.4 billion), Poste Italiane (3.1 billion) and Amundi (2.9 billion) billions). Accounts in the red, on the other hand, for the Generali group (-3.6 billion) “the result of deposits recorded by the Generali Group – explains the company in a note – is due both to rebalancing in the portfolios of institutional clients and to outflows on monetary funds within the insurance mandates under management “.
Pir and ethical funds
Noteworthy is the return to positive territory of the individual savings plans which raised 106 million, thus bringing assets under management to 19.7 billion. Arca and Lyxor, with 39 and 31 million respectively, achieved the best results. Finally, from the side of sustainable funds, total deposits for the quarter are positive for 18.2 billion while assets are equal to 334 billion.
