ROME (ITALPRESS) – In February 2020, industry producer prices increased by 0.5% on a monthly basis and by 0.7% on an annual basis (from -0.3% in January). Istat notes it. On the domestic market, industry producer prices increased by 0.5% compared to January and by 0.7% in trend terms. Net of the energy sector, economic growth is slightly more contained (+ 0.4%), the trend is more marked (+ 1.2%). On the foreign market, prices increase by 0.6% on a monthly basis for both target areas, euro and non-euro, and mark an annual increase of 0.4%, to which the euro area alone contributes (+1.0 %). In the quarter December 2020 – February 2021, compared to the previous three months, the producer prices of the industry recorded an increase of 1.7%. The economic trend is more sustained on the domestic market (+ 2.0%) than on the foreign market (+ 0.9%). In February 2021, among the manufacturing activities, the highest trend increases concern the Metallurgy and manufacturing of metal products sectors (+ 4.2% domestic market, + 5.8% euro area, + 2.8% non-euro area) and other manufacturing industries, repair and installation of machinery and equipment (+ 3.1% non-euro area). The largest decreases are recorded for coke and refined petroleum products (-2.1% domestic market, -7.6% euro area), basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations (-2.9% non-euro area) and chemical products (-2.9% in the euro area, -2.0% in the non-euro area). In February 2021, construction producer prices for “Residential and non-residential buildings” grew by 0.4% on a monthly basis and by 2.1% on an annual basis.
