Inflation China: consumer price index + 1.5%, production prices + 10.3% in December

In December, China’s inflation, measured by the consumer price index, rose by 1.5% on an annual basis, less than the + 1.8% expected by the consensus, and compared to the previous rise of 2, 3%. On a monthly basis, the figure fell 0.3%.

Inflation measured by the producer price index, on the other hand, jumped on an annual basis by 10.3%, less than the + 11.1% estimated by the consensus of analysts, and slowed compared to the previous jump of 12.9%. On a monthly basis, the trend was down by -1.2%.
