Inflation China: consumer prices + 1.5%, producer prices + 8.3%. Data beyond expectations

In March, China’s inflation measured by the consumer price index rose by 1.5% on an annual basis, above the 1.2% growth expected by the consensus of analysts, and accelerating compared to the previous increase of 0.9%. On a monthly basis, the data showed an unchanged trend.

Inflation measured by the producer price index, on the other hand, increased on an annual basis by 8.3%, compared to the + 7.9% expected and the previous + 8.8%. On a monthly basis, the growth was + 1.1%.
