Israel signs a free trade agreement with the Emirates: it is the first with an Arab country

Israel and the United Arab Emirates, which normalized their diplomatic relations in 2020, signed a free trade agreement, the first of its kind between the Jewish state and an Arab country.

“Congratulations,” Israeli ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Amir Hayek, wrote in Arabic on Twitter, accompanying his message with a photo showing Israeli and Emirati officials during the signing ceremony in Dubai, in the Emirates.
