Istat, absolute poverty at its peak. But with inflation we risk one million more poor people

ROMA – Absolute poverty in 2021 confirms i all-time highs touched in 2020, the year in which the pandemic began. For 1.9 million families (7.5% of the total from 7.7% in 2020) and about 5.6 million people (9.4%, as in the previous year) nothing has changed. But be careful, warn State: in 2021, higher consumption (+ 1.7%) did not offset inflation (+ 1.9%).
