Ita, agreements with the world of cruises

by admin

The airline Ita, which succeeds Alitalia, signs agreements with the two most important operators in the Italian sea cruise market, MSC and Costa.

Both letters of intent with MSC Cruises and Costa Cruises propose to “define joint commercial initiatives for the promotion of products and services”. The two bilateral partnerships Ita-Msc and Ita-Costa envisage that Ita be identified by Msc and da Costa as the “preferred air carrier for cruise travel to medium and long-haul destinations”, guaranteeing fly & cruise services; in addition, the companies will identify, again on a bilateral basis Ita-Msc and Ita-Costa, “joint business opportunities aimed at developing sales of Ita products and services on the market, arranging together commercial and promotional activities also dedicated to attracting new customers” .

Emiliana Limosani, Chief Commercial Officer of Ita, says that these two agreements are part of “Ita’s commercial strategy of making use of the most important commercial partners of the leisure product, fundamental levers when starting not only for us but for tourism in general”.

Leonardo Massa, Managing Director of MSC Cruises: “Since August 2020 Msc Cruises has led the phase of the restart of global tourism thanks to a health and safety protocol that has become a model to be followed all over the world. Today we are happy to add, to the numerous actions that we have gradually implemented since then, also a partnership with a new carrier which, at the same time, represents the history of Italian civil aviation. The experience of the cruise travel begins well before reaching the ship, therefore, we are happy to be able to entrust our guests to a partner who will offer them a service in line with the standards of our company “.

Mario Alovisi, Vice President Revenue Management, Itinerary & Transportation of Costa Cruises: “The recovery of tourism is a fundamental objective for the economy of our country to which, as Costa, we are contributing through the resumption of our cruise operations and, from today, also thanks to the collaboration with Ita. The partnership with the new company will allow us to offer even more options to our guests and to ensure them an Italian experience which, as the only company to fly the Italian flag for over 70 years, we help to spread throughout the world “.
