The optimism towards theItalian economy: l’89% of the investors in fact, the Bel Paese says it is confident, thus marking a + 6% compared to the first quarter of 2021. A trend that emerged from the new Investor Sentiment report by UBS, a quarterly research that analyzes the confidence rate of investors and entrepreneurs on a global scale.
The positive trend
Therefore for theItalyin particular, there is a positive trend. Even if there is no shortage of worries: 48% of those who invest are still worried about the spread of Covid-19; 50% identify a serious problem in climate change; 46%, on the other hand, are concerned about the country’s demographic trends and the consequent aging of the population.
Chapter inflation. The 31% of Italian investors think that in the next 12 months there will be a rapid generalized increase in prices. 58%, on the other hand, think that the rate of growth of inflation will remain the same as before and only 11% assume a decline. The 18% of respondents also believe that a possible increase in inflation could have an important impact on their portfolios, however a large number of investors (49%) he thinks that this impact may, on the other hand, be minor. To cope with the eventuality of an increase in inflation, the 38% of Italian investors said they wanted to modify their portfolios by adding a sustainable investment component, the 34% declares that he wants to invest more in equities and the 28% in hedging strategies.
The outlook on investments
And it is precisely the stock market the other slice of the market analyzed: the 39% of respondents say they want to increase the shares in their portfolio over the next 6 months; the 50% plans to maintain the same share component over the next 6 months; only the11% wants to decrease the stocks in their portfolio. Overall most of the Italian investors (83%) it says positive referring to the trend of the stock market in the next 6 months.
Lastly, we move on to the real estate investment sector. Here the 66% of respondents believe this is an excellent time to invest in the real estate market by buying a home. In short, the analysis shows positive investor sentiment, certainly coming from the months of reopening and economic turmoil. A situation that hopefully can hold up over time.
