Japan: retail sales + 1.1% in October, better than expected

Japan’s retail sales rose 1.1% monthly in October, outperforming the -1.6% decline expected by consensus, but slowing from the previous 2.7% increase. On an annual basis, the figure was up 0.9%, less than the + 1.1% expected but better than the previous drop of -0.5%.
