by admin

The hires activated by private employers in the first half of 2021 were 3,323,000, “with an increase compared to the same period of 2020 (+ 23%) mainly due to the growth that began in March 2021”. The INPS recorded almost 2.4 million terminations, with a positive balance of jobs in the period equal to 925,408 units. This is what the data on the flows of the Observatory on precarious work, updated to June 2021, tell.

«The increase – adds INPS – concerned all types of contracts, but was more pronounced for the recruitment of seasonal (+ 68%) and administration (+ 34%) contracts; on the other hand, permanent hires are almost stable (+ 2%) ». There were 214 thousand transformations for a fixed period in the six months of 2021, down compared to the same period in 2020 (-21%).

Terminations in the first half of 2021 totaled 2,397,000, a decrease compared to the same period of the previous year (-3%). The terminations of intermittent contracts (-21%), fixed-term and seasonal contracts (-11%) are down, adds INPS; for permanent contracts in the months of January and February there was a reduction of 32%, while from March there was a parallel inversion to that recorded for recruitments. Economic redundancies relating to permanent employment relationships – even if still blocked, except in particular cases – in the second quarter of 2021 increased by 29% compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year; the greater the increase in disciplinary dismissals: + 67%. In any case, terminations due to resignations are the type of terminations that showed the most significant increase in the same period (+ 91%).
