KFC’s long-awaited culinary hybrid, the “Chizza,” has finally arrived in the United States, promising a unique dining experience that combines the best of two worlds. This innovative dish, which combines the flavors of pizza and fried chicken, is composed of two fillets covered with marinara sauce, melted mozzarella cheese, and crispy pepperoni.

According to KFC, the Chizza has been a hit in various countries around the world, including the Philippines, Korea, Taiwan, India, Thailand, Germany, Spain, and Mexico. The dish will be available in the US market starting next Monday on a limited basis, both individually and in a combo with fries and a medium drink.

To celebrate the arrival of Chizza, KFC will host a pop-up “Chizzería” at its New York location, offering free samples on Friday, February 23, and Saturday, February 24. This introduction comes as part of a series of exciting initiatives announced by Yum! Brands CEO David Gibbs, including the innovation of “Smash’d Potato Bowls” and the launch of KFC’s first loyalty program in the country.

With KFC making up approximately 40% of Yum!’s total revenue in 2023, the chain’s latest menu innovation is sure to attract attention and satisfy cravings. The Chizza is reminiscent of the popular “Double Down” sandwich, using chicken tenders as bread, and follows in the footsteps of the viral Popeyes chicken sandwich of 2019.

The arrival of Chizza in the US market not only showcases KFC’s innovative spirit but also aligns with consumer demands for unique and surprising culinary experiences. As an added bonus, the Blackberry Lemonade drink will also make a temporary return to stores nationwide, enhancing the overall dining experience for customers.
