Sina Technology News reported on the afternoon of August 25 that Kuaishou released its second-quarter financial report as of June 30, 2021. According to the financial report, Kuaishou’s revenue in the second quarter was 19.138 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 48.8%, with a net loss of 7.04 billion yuan and an adjusted net loss of 4.77 billion yuan.

  Performance analysis for the second quarter:

The financial report shows that in the second quarter of 2021, the average daily active users of Kuaishou apps increased by 11.9% year-on-year to 293.2 million; in the second quarter of 2021, the average monthly active users of Kuaishou apps were 513 million. The monthly active users in overseas markets have exceeded 180 million.

In the second quarter of 2021, the average daily usage time of each daily active user of Kuaishou app reached 106.9 minutes, a year-on-year increase of 25.2%.

The financial report shows that in the second quarter of 2021, online marketing service revenue was 9.96 billion yuan, an increase of 156.2% year-on-year, and its contribution to total revenue once again exceeded 50%.

Revenue from other services including e-commerce was 1.98 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 212.9%.

The total amount of e-commerce transactions in the second quarter was 145.398 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 100.5%.

The live broadcast business revenue was 7.19 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 13.7%.

Sales and marketing expenses were 11.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 100.8%, mainly due to the increase in promotion and advertising expenses.

R&D expenditure was 3.9 billion, a year-on-year increase of 198.1%, accounting for 20.4% of total revenue.

The financial report showed that Kuaishou had revenue of 36.2 billion yuan in the first half of the year, a net loss of 64.8 billion yuan, and an adjusted net loss of 9.69 billion yuan.
