On March 4th, the 2022 National Two Sessions came. “Daily Economic News” learned from Xiaomi that as a representative of the 13th National People’s Congress, founder, chairman and CEO of Xiaomi Group, Lei Jun put forward four proposals this year, among which “new energy vehicles” and “dual carbon” etc. become suggested keywords.

Regarding new energy vehicles, Lei Jun made two suggestions. The first is to build a carbon footprint accounting system for new energy vehicles, and the second is to speed up the construction of high-power and fast-charging infrastructure for new energy vehicles.

He believes that the low-carbon development of new energy vehicles has become the key winner in the global competition of the auto industry, and a complete, clear and accurate carbon footprint accounting system is the premise and foundation for the low-carbon development of the new energy vehicle industry. Therefore, he suggested establishing a systematic carbon footprint management system to guide the low-carbon development of the new energy vehicle industry as a whole. Clear guidance. In addition, establish a new energy vehicle carbon footprint industry data platform, improve carbon footprint certification, rating and incentive mechanisms, and encourage enterprises to increase investment in low-carbon design.

On the other hand, Lei Jun believes that to ensure the high-quality development of the new energy vehicle industry, it is necessary to solve many problems facing the current development of high-power fast charging, including imperfect top-level planning, high pressure on enterprise R&D investment, long construction cycle, and high economic costs. Therefore, he suggested to strengthen policy guidance, coordinate and promote the planning and layout of high-power fast charging networks, and at the same time establish a national innovation cooperation platform, strengthen joint research on core technologies, and promote the popularization of high-power charging infrastructure by strengthening construction service guarantees.
