Baidu Create 2021 (Baidu AI Developers Conference) was held today in the “Hirang” APP. Baidu founder, chairman and CEO Robin Li said that the era of man-machine symbiosis is coming, and creators will usher in the golden decade of artificial intelligence in China.
“In the next 10 years, AI will become a powerful tool to change the world, thousands of industries will be intelligently reconstructed, and people’s living space will be greatly expanded.”
In his speech, Li Yanhong elaborated on how artificial intelligence can help industrial development, expand the boundaries of human capabilities, and make artificial intelligence better benefit mankind.
In Li Yanhong’s view, intelligent transportation will be a major change that will affect the next 10-40 years. It will make China’s first-tier cities no longer need to limit purchases and traffic within 5 years, and basically solve the congestion problem within 10 years. He believes that intelligent transportation can solve three major problems: First, reduce road safety accidents by 90%. Second, the system solves the congestion problem. Third, autonomous driving and smart transportation can help reduce carbon emissions.
Starting from autonomous driving, Baidu deeply integrates artificial intelligence, 5G communications, cloud computing and other technologies into the transportation field based on smart cars and smart roads. “Carrot Run” plans to expand to 65 cities in 2025 and 100 cities in 2030. Baidu’s AIR intelligent road system will realize real-time optimization of “city-level” signal control at intersections in hundreds of thousands of cities across the country, and realize the safety of vehicles on millions of kilometers of roads across the country.
Auto robots are Baidu’s judgment on the future development of automobiles. According to Baidu, Jidu’s auto robot has L4 level autonomous driving capabilities and runs through the three product concepts of “free movement”, “natural communication” and “self-growth”.
Li Yanhong revealed in his speech that Jidu plans to release the first automotive robot concept car in the first half of 2022 and achieve mass production and delivery in 2023.
At the conference site, Wang Haifeng released Baidu’s smart cloud digital human platform “Xiling”, which can provide a variety of digital human generation and content production services for all walks of life, further reducing the threshold of digital human application.
AI sign language anchors that provide sign language services for hearing-impaired friends, CCTV digital person Xiao C, etc., also appeared at the conference.
