Lucid, whose CEO Peter Rawlinson is a former Tesla Model S chief engineer, began production of its Lucid Air cars yesterday at the Arizona factory with the goal of reaching a production capacity of 90,000 vehicles per year in the next two years. The company has increased the total planned production of the Lucid Air Dream Edition to 520 vehicles in light of the more than 13,000 orders received.
The Lucid Air Dream Edition is priced at $ 169,000 and, according to official assessments from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), boasts a range of 520 miles (837 km), over 100 miles more than Tesla’s Model S. which however costs almost half ($ 89,990).
