The entrepreneur Marcello Berloni died at 12 on Wednesday 26 June at the Pesaro hospital. He was 84 and had been ill for some time. Together with his brother Antonio he founded Berloni Cucine in the early 1960s, a historic and reference brand for the entire sector at national level. Then in the mid-2000s the beginning of the crisis, the concordat, the entry of oriental partners, until the handing over to a Taiwanese consortium: one of the members won the ownership of the company at an auction in recent months . “With Marcello Berloni, not only an historical entrepreneur, of the first generation who has created development, employment and well-being in our province, goes away, but also a simple person, strongly linked to his family and to the places where he lived and worked”, is the comment of the president of Confindustria Pesaro Urbino Alessandra Baronciani. “The news of his death saddens us deeply: we are left with an example of innovative entrepreneurship that has made our territory famous thanks to the brand that has established itself all over the world“.
