This was stated by the managing director and CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo, Carlo Messina, during an interview with the group’s internal web TV after the completion of the integration of Ubi Banca.
“All this – he added – makes it possible to increase the net profit and therefore to position the bank in a growth perspective”. Messina then underlined that “the foreign banks” of the group “must increasingly be leaders in the countries in which they operate, in particular where we have significant market shares”.
