Future. It is the name of the logo with the “futurist” characters chosen by the popular jury for the Winter Olympic Games Milan-Cortina 2026 which will be held in 5 years from 6 to 26 February. A good race where Futura got the better of Dice, emblem where the tricolor has the upper hand, receiving 75% more consensus (out of a total of 871,566 votes received from Italy and other 168 nations, with a participation from abroad of 10%). A beautiful competition opened on March 6 on the Sanremo stage by the Ambassadors Federica Pilgrims and Alberto Tomb. Also for the Paralympic Games, which will take place from 6 to 15 March 2026, the logo will be Futura but with different colors, taking its cue from the Northern Lights which in 2003 had a manifestation of some of its colors in Cortina.
The presentation of the Olympic emblem
From the Tower Isozaki of Milan, headquarters of the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation, and from the Hall of Honor of the Coni in Rome, the new symbols of the Winter Games were presented on March 30th. The event, which saw the debut (in office from March 16, 2021) of Undersecretary for Sport Valentina Vezzali (6 times Olympic gold in foil) was chaired by Giovanni Malagò, president of Coni and of the Milano-Cortina 2026 Foundation, by Vincenzo Novari, CEO of the Foundation and by Luca Pancalli, president of the Italian Paralympic Committee. Among others, the president of the Lombardy Region, Attilio, is also connected Fontana, and the mayor of Cortina d’Ampezzo Gianpietro Ghedina.

It is the first time in history that the emblem of the Games has been chosen by people and sports fans with an online popular vote. Futura, an ice-colored symbol with the numbers 2 and 6 representing the ski slopes, has therefore surpassed the competition of Dado, depicting a dice with the numbers 2 and 6 in red and green topped by a snowflake to recall the tricolor.
