by admin

The MSC Seashore has arrived in Genoa, the new flagship and nineteenth ship in the MSC Cruises fleet, the largest and most technologically advanced that exists, also from an environmental point of view. Built by Fincantieri and launched last July 26 in Monfalcone, MSC Seashore required an investment of 1 billion euro which “generated – the company says – only in the construction phase, an impact on the Italian economy of more than 4 billion, without consider the significant tourist-economic impact deriving from the operation of the ship in the territories visited by its guests and crews “.

From Genoa, MSC Seashore will leave every Sunday for the next three months, until the end of the summer season, to make weekly cruises in the western Mediterranean that will stop in Naples, Messina, Malta, Barcelona and Marseille.

Leonardo Massa, Country Manager of MSC Cruises: «With the arrival of the new flagship, the number of ships of the company that this year have already regularly visited Genoa this year, whose port is confirmed as strategic, the main hub of MSC Cruises globally . This year the company will make about 130 stopovers in Genoa, handling almost 400 thousand passengers which we estimate to grow to about 700 thousand in 2022. These are encouraging numbers when evaluated in the context of the serious difficulties experienced by the tourism sector and compared to the historical record of over 1 million cruise passengers registered in 2019, therefore in the pre-Covid era. Since the restart of our cruises, the first in the world in August 2020, we are proud to have transported over 100,000 Italian cruise passengers safely, thanks to the “Health and Safety Protocol” developed by our company ».
