The bridge built in ten hours

The bridge installed, like the other two that will be positioned in the coming months, has a weight of 2500 tons and is about 80 meters long with a height of 21 meters. After a series of preliminary activities for the arrangement of the road axis, the bridge, with an operation that lasted about 10 hours, was taken over by 18 special trolleys, which overall distributed the weight on 104 rubber axles, to be then hoisted about 6 meters from the ground by lifting towers (Strand Jack).

The Napoli Cancello section in which the viaduct has been positioned will allow to bring the tracks of the line to service the Naples AV station.Afragola, built by the company Astaldi Part of Webuild group, a station that once operational will become a hub for passenger interchange between regional and high-speed services. The route extends for about 15.5 km in the territories of Casoria, Casalnuovo, Afragola, Caivano and Acerra. The second section of the line under construction, Apice-Hirpinia, on the other hand, it exceeds 18 kilometers and involves crossing the Apennines and building the intermediate station of Hirpinia.
