NYC Mayor Eric Adams Unveils Plans for New 62-Story Office Tower in Midtown Manhattan

(CNN) — New York City’s iconic skyline is set to receive a new addition with the unveiling of plans for a multimillion-dollar tower at 350 Park Avenue. The 62-story office tower will provide space for over 6,000 jobs and offer 1.8 million square feet of commercial office space. The project is being financed by Vornado Realty Trust, Kenneth Griffin of Citadel, and Rudin construction.

Designed by Foster + Partners, the new tower will feature floor-to-ceiling glass, white columns framing a public esplanade with green space, seating, and art displays at the base. Landscaped terraces will top each section of the glass-clad tower, which will house offices for Citadel and Citadel Securities.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams praised the project, stating that it will boost the economy and expand the city’s iconic skyline. The new tower will replace the existing 30-story building on the site in Midtown Manhattan, near landmarks like Rockefeller Center and Grand Central Station.

With New York City still grappling with economic challenges from the pandemic, Adams hopes this project will aid in the city’s recovery. The tower is expected to be completed by 2032 after the public review process begins early next year.

As the commercial real estate market faces difficulties attracting workers back to the office, this project marks a significant investment in Midtown’s revitalization. The city looks forward to the new era of live, work, and play community that this development will bring.
