New Volkswagen T-Roc, the compact SUV is renewed

Volkswagen T-Roc is renewed four years after its debut and after having sold over one million units. Presented in standard version, T-Roc R and T-Roc convertible, the compact SUV from Wolfsburg changes in style and becomes more connected and technological. Proposed in the basic set-ups, Life, Style and R-Line, it will arrive at the dealership in combination with two petrol and three diesel engines also in the all-wheel drive version but no hybrid engine. It will arrive at the dealership in March.

Three petrol and two diesel engines are available for the new T-Roc which, depending on the type of drive, are combined with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch gearbox. The petrol direct injection engines include a three-cylinder 1.0-liter Tsi engine with a maximum power of 110 horsepower and two four-cylinder engines: the 1.5-liter 150hp Tsi and the 2-liter Tsi. 0 liters that delivers 190 hp. The range is completed by two 2.0-liter four-cylinder Tdi engines with output of 115 hp and 150 hp respectively. The 110 hp 1.0 Tsi and 150 hp 1.5 Tsi are available for the new T-Roc Cabriolet, while the top model is the 300 hp T-Roc R. As an alternative to front-wheel drive, the 150 hp diesel engine can also be combined with the 4Motion all-wheel drive, which in the 190 hp 2.0 Tsi model and in the T-Roc R guarantees significantly higher level of traction as standard.

The new T-Roc features a fully digital display and control system based on the third generation of the modular Mib3 infotainment system. In the new version, a standard Digital Cockpit takes over the function of the instrument cluster behind the steering wheel, while the Digital Cockpit Pro offers another variant with an even larger display and additional functions. The infotainment displays on the dashboard are also newly configured, with a size of 6.5 or 8.0 inches depending on the equipment. In conjunction with the new Discover Pro infotainment system, their diagonal now reaches as much as 9.2 inches. The functions of We Connect Plus allow the use of innovative digital services, such as the online voice command system based on natural language and access to streaming services. Via App-Connect Wireless, it is now possible to integrate the functions of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto into the control system even in wireless mode.

Volkswagen T-Roc, autonomous driving

The standard equipment still includes the Front Assist and Lane Assist systems, in addition to, among other things, the Iq.Drive Travel Assist and the newly introduced Acc predictive cruise control system. In addition, the functions of the Side Assist system and the Park Assist parking assistance device have been expanded, which can now also manage parking maneuvers in forward motion in transverse spaces and exit from parking spaces parallel to the carriageway.

Sports performance and crossover functionality are the strengths of the revamped Volkswagen T-Roc R. Thanks to its 300 horsepower four-cylinder engine, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 4.9 seconds. The specific sports chassis and progressive steering ensure extremely agile driving characteristics. Electronic stability control Esc can be deactivated manually. A model-specific button on the new sports leather steering wheel allows direct access to the driving profile selection. By holding this button down, it is also possible to activate the Race mode.
