From today Ita, the new company born from the ashes of Alitalia, begins the sale of tickets for its flights as planned. In fact, the website www.itaspa.com is active for the sale of tickets for flights starting from 15 October. This was announced by the airline explaining that the launch of the marketing of tickets follows the achievement (on 18 August last) of the necessary certifications by ENAC, the National Civil Aviation Authority. Ita has made it known that the site will be only a first “service” step, to allow reservations: soon a totally new site will be born “based on the most innovative technologies”.
What about the tickets sold so far? Alitalia, which obviously no longer sells tickets for flights after 15 October, will soon issue a note via e-mail to those who have purchased flights departing before 15 October. Customers will be given a double option: either to replace the flight with another equivalent departing by 14 October or to request a full refund of the ticket.
Ita has also launched a campaign to collect applications for professional figures to be subsequently included in the flight and ground operational areas and in those of staff. In line with the values and strategy of the company, which focuses decisively on the digitization of business processes to develop a flexible and lean organization, the process of collecting applications takes place online, with the aid of innovative digital platforms. Applications for Ita personnel can be sent to the site cving.com/ita-jobs. There are many professional figures that Ita is looking for, including cabin crew, hiring technical crew, cargo and cyber security manager.
The “no” and the doubts of the trade unions weigh on the first steps of the new company: in the first meeting between the top management and the social partners, all the main unions made requests and claims, confirming for now the strike of 24 September.
