How did the race go
The fight for the drivers’ title saw teammates as protagonists Ogier ed Evans and so it was. The two crews engaged in an epic battle for victory throughout the weekend, exchanging command between them six times. Good performance also for Dani Sordo and Cándido Carrera they made sure the third place and the second consecutive podium. The Spanish crew hit the podium in front of their teammates Thierry Neuville and Martijn Wydaeghe, who ended their first season together with a hard-fought fourth post.
Wrc3: an Italian name is back on the top step of the podium
Highest number of special stages won, best i20 N Rally2 car at the finish line and victory in the category Wrc3 in front of the international protagonists of the World Rally Championship of the category. The last round of the 2021 World Rally Championship highlighted the talent of the Italian crew Crugnola-Ometto and the qualities of new i20 N Rally2. The 32-year-old driver from Varese and the 29-year-old navigator from Vicenza took command of the rally on Saturday afternoon, in the final part of the second day, after an exciting challenge fought against the two teams who were playing for the world title. Sunday Crugnola-Ometto carefully administered the slight advantage confirming the first place in the class and tenth position in the overall standings, just behind the Wrc Plus.
The ranking of this world rally 2021 sees the victory of Ogier with 230 points. Second place for Evans at 207 followed by Neuville at 176. At the foot of the podium Rovampera at 142, Tanak at 128, Sordo at 81 and Katsura at 78 points.
