The dimensions are about the same as the current generation: 4,374 mm long and 1,860 mm wide, a wheelbase of 2,675 mm (increased by 13 mm compared to the previous version) and a boot capacity of 422 liters. Inside, there is an evolution in on-board design and technologies. The driver can now count on a double integrated display of 10 inches each, one for the instrumentation and the other touch for the infotainment. The Android Auto and Apple Car Play protocols are already available as standard. Obviously, as in the Opel DNA, attention was also given to the seats, the front ones certified by the experts of Agr, an independent body of German orthopedists.
Safety is always first and foremost and Opel Astra is equipped with the latest automatic driver assistance systems which include, in addition to the multifunction camera in the windscreen, four cameras in the bodywork (one at the front, one at the rear and one on each side), five radar sensors (one on the front and one on each corner), and front and rear ultrasound sensors.
Cameras and sensors are integrated with e-horizon connectivity into the Intelli-Drive system, which increases the range of the cameras and radar. This allows the system to adapt speed when cornering, recommend speed and perform semi-automatic lane changes. The hand detection system on the steering wheel ensures the active presence of the driver at all times.
