Complete package of security systems

The entry level of the Active Pack includes many safety systems from emergency braking, to lane departure control, from the recognition of road signs that are added to features such as dual-zone automatic climate control, soundproof windscreen, automatic switching on of headlamps and wipers, LED headlights and digital instrumentation with a 10-inch display. The Allure, on the other hand, adds functional and design elements, including the anti-collision system and adaptive headlights, the front parking sensors, the integral front LED headlights, the grille with chrome inserts and two USB sockets placed in the rear part of the passenger compartment and intended for the other occupants of the car.

The hybrid with the maximum power of 225 hp

For the first contact, the choice was the sedan version with the 225 hp plug-in front-wheel drive and 8-speed automatic transmission. An electrification that aims to give brilliance to the French compact, but also to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. A good powertrain, with the electric and gasoline working together in perfect sync. Naturally, there is no shortage of different driving modes: Electric, to travel with zero emissions, Hybrid to let the system decide which engine to operate and Sport, to have all the 225 HP available. As an alternative, for the 308 Station Wagon, the choice went to the 130 hp petrol automatic combined with the 6-speed manual transmission.

The EMP2 platform revised in some details

At the base of both variants is the EMP2 powertrain which has been revised in some points not in the suspensions which are always McPherson at the front and torsion beam at the rear, for a slightly more gritty general behavior not only in the set-up, but also in the steering with the right extra load. The just over 1,700 kg of weight are felt with a slight inertia where you start to push in the corners, with the 225 hp of the system with a neutral rear and a controlled roll. A compact, in short, comfortable when traveling on the motorway with Level 2 driving assistants who are decidedly progressive in use, but very decisive in their interventions.

The list of the 5-door sedan is the first to arrive

The prices of the new Peugeot 308 5-door start at 24,550 euros for the 1.2 PureTech with 6-speed manual gearbox and Active Pack set-up, including 16-inch wheels, automatic emergency braking, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear parking sensors, 10-inch central monitor, digital instrumentation and keyless system. At the top is the 225 hp plug-in GT Pack which offers standard 18-inch alloy wheels with exclusive design, drive assist pack, front LED matrix lights, Alcantara interiors, 360-degree camera, audio system of the level of the exclusive supplier Focal at a list price of 43,450 euros.
