[Epoch Times, July 23, 2021](The Epoch Times reporter Lin Zirong reported) Heavy rains in Henan Province, China, have hit Zhengzhou, Gongyi and other places in recent days. The accumulated rainfall in a short period of time has exceeded 1,000 millimeters.
On July 22, the rain in Zhengzhou City began to slow down, the water accumulation in the urban area receded slightly, and the flood control level was reduced to three. At present, many users are still in a state of power outage. Officials in Henan Province said on the 22nd that the floods have caused 33 deaths and 8 missing. However, the CCP officials are used to cover up the disaster situation and beautify the figures, and the actual number of casualties may be higher.
On the 22nd, the floods in some areas of Zhengzhou City began to recede, but there were still many vehicles trapped in the floods. In the areas where the floods receded, many vehicles that were destroyed by the water were stacked together.
Gongyi City, located to the west of Zhengzhou City, was also hit by floods. Many underground communication cables were broken, the bases of high-voltage electric towers were buried by earth and rock flows, and many telegraph poles collapsed, resulting in the blockage of communication pipelines in parts of Gongyi City. The roads in Gongyi City were devastated after the flood gradually receded. Some victims were weeping because they were separated from their families due to the flood.
On the 23rd, there was still water in some areas of Zhengzhou City, and citizens were evacuated on foot or by excavators; rescuers used pumps to remove water in underground tunnels; workers were busy cleaning up debris from the streets.
Zhengzhou city authorities did not close the subway during the heavy rain, causing many civilian casualties.
