Piaggio wins against Peugeot: for the judges, the French copied the Mp3s of the Pontedera company

Piaggio the case against wins Peugeot, accused of having illegally used the patent of the Italian motorcycle company by creating a model identical to the vehicle three-wheeled Mp3 , presented in Italy in 2006.

The Milan court arrived at the same outcome and agreed with Piaggio. The compensation should be around one million, but the story takes on political connotations as it is the recognition, within an international conflict between large companies, of the value of a made in Italy product. Furthermore, with a ruling of this type, Peugeot could be forced to withdraw i Peugeot Metropolis.

Over the years, Piaggio’s three-wheeled scooter has achieved particular success on the French market. It is no coincidence that on the occasion of one of the restylings the MP3 was presented in Paris. Its conformation and characteristics make it particularly safe for travel even on slimy asphalt and cobblestones.
