Piazza Affari and the main European stock exchanges should move cautiously in anticipation of some macro data and the start of the new accounting season in the United States. This week the focus will be on the US inflation data for March, due out tomorrow, which should show a strong acceleration, returning well above 2%. A test for bond markets and US government bond yields that could get nervous about fears of a premature tightening of monetary policy. This week will also see the start of the quarterly season in the US, with the big companies of the financial sector publishing the accounts for the first quarter.
Today, however, the session will be rather lacking in indications. The macro agenda foresees only the publication of retail sales in the Eurozone. In Italy, the Draghi government is working on the Economics and Finance Document and the new request for budget variance expected in the next few days.
Among the stocks of Piazza Affari, attention to DiaSorin which announced the acquisition of the American Luminex Corporation for a cash price of $ 37 per share, equal to an equity value and an enterprise value of approximately $ 1.8 billion.
