Last session of August without jolts for Piazza Affari. The Ftse Mib index today lost 0.06% to 26.009 points and not following the new records recorded by Wall Street. Not even the leap beyond expectations of euro area inflation (+ 3%, top since 2011) has moved investors who do not see any changes coming to the ECB’s monetary policy (next meeting on 10 September).
However, the surge of inflation has somewhat warmed up the banking sector (+ 1.2% Intesa, + 1.53% Bper and + 0.65% Unicredit).
On the Piazza Affari parterre, on the other hand, the retracement of STM (-0.53%), which yesterday closed at the highs of 19 years, should be noted.
A drop in the order of half a percentage point also for Stellantis, which after stopping the production of the factories in Sevel, Atessa and Pomigliano, Stellantis was also forced to shut down the Melfi plant, the largest of the Group’s plants in Europe. According to reports from Il Sole 24 Ore, the reopening is postponed to 13 September and production can only be guaranteed for five days, then it will be necessary to stop due to lack of electronic components.
