Charging becomes even faster. The Plug & Charge (PnC) service for the models of the Audi e-tron range from December 1st makes the energy supply even faster and more intuitive.
Automatic recognition and payment
By refueling from the Ionity network, the cars of the Audi e-tron range will be able to count on automatic recognition by the network to quickly start charging. This means that no Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) card or application will be needed. Authentication will take place via encrypted communication when connecting the charging cable and the process will start without further action. And, billing will also be automated.
At the beginning, the e-tron and e-tron Sportback models will benefit from the PnC function in the 55 quattro and S configurations produced from 1 December and with an active e-tron Charging Service contract. The PnC option will be activated via the app.
Ionity: over 5 thousand new points by 2025
In addition to the introduction of the Audi Plug & Charge function, Ionity is investing 700 million euros in the expansion of the network by 2025.
The joint venture (of which Audi is one of the founding members) present in 24 European countries will significantly increase the 350 kW charging points, from over 1,500 current units to around 7,000.
