Because right here, in Bergamo, the epicenter of the crisis, a territory that in terms of lives has paid the highest price to the virus, we can better understand than elsewhere the abysmal distance between before and after. Between the world of lockdowns and war bulletins in hospitals and the current situation (with 92% vaccinated in the province, well above the national average), where among the many freedoms regained there is also that of being able to reunite, with hundreds of entrepreneurs to participate in person in the annual meeting of Confindustria Bergamo, an occasion that has been postponed several times to inaugurate the new headquarters of the association at the Kilometro Rosso science and technology park.

Conflicts also visible at the level of states – he explains – with a growing number of governments and parties that in a myopic and populist way undermine multilateral institutions. With respect to Europe – reiterates Scaglia, citing the latest example of Poland – “the attitude of those who wish its destruction without bringing alternative ideas must be fought”.
