A few days after the official start of the summer (21 June), Puglia starts with the great live music events and foresees a tourist season that will be at the levels of 2019, the year before the pandemic. It starts immediately with Medimex 2022, the Puglia Sounds and Puglia Region project for the development of the music system. Medimex is scheduled from 16 to 19 June in Taranto and from 13 to 15 July in Bari with the concerts of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds in Taranto (June 19, Lungomare roundabout) and The Chemical Brothers in Bari (July 14). The event also celebrates two of the most important groups in musical history: Pink Floyd and Queen.
Until July 17 at the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto (MarTa), Medimex presents “Hipgnosis Studio: Pink Floyd and Beyond”. It is an exhibition curated by “Ono Arte Contemporanea” and traces the history of one of the most important groups in rock music through the work of the graphic studio that helped translate their sound work into images. And again, there will be meetings with the protagonists of the Italian and international music scene, tributes to Ivan Graziani and Ennio Morricone, Rock lessons on Pink Floyd and David Bowie and a showcase dedicated to Apulian musical talents with three evenings of showcase.
Emiliano: Taranto’s tourist force rebuilt
“Medimex, which has its center in Taranto, was the event through which a plot of the soul but also the tourist and cultural strength of this city was reconstructed” comments the Apulian regional governor Michele Emiliano.

And we believe that Nic Cave and The Chemical Brothers can give a big boost to national and international tourism. This in a context in which Puglia aims to reach the levels of 2019 “.
