In 2019, China issued 5G licenses, and global 5G entered the commercial era. With fiber-like speed, ultra-low latency, and large network capacity, 5G will have as great influence as electricity and transform all walks of life. As the foundation of the digital future, 5G is continuously developing, and its popularity in various countries and regions has exceeded previous expectations. At present, more than 175 operators around the world have realized the commercial use of 5G in more than 70 countries and regions, and 285 operators are investing in the deployment of 5G networks. China has played an important role in the global commercialization of 5G. At present, the number of 5G terminal connections in China is close to 450 million, and more than 1.15 million 5G base stations have been built.

Unlike the past 3G and 4G, Qualcomm believes that 5G will become a universal connection platform.
