The characteristics of the service

Alessio Muciaccia, CEO of the group, says: «The terminals involved are Bologna Interporto and Rotterdam Botlek. From the latter it will be possible to embark the cargo units for the United Kingdom and Ireland. From the Bologna freight village, on the other hand, thanks to our connection to Bari, goods can also reach Greece and Turkey. We are very satisfied with this new service. We are witnessing a worsening of the pandemic situation, but intermodal rail transport is once again confirmed as strategic for the economy, the continuous growth of demand for and from Northern Europe confirms this. And we have decided to continue investing, despite the difficulties, to engage this growth. And what makes us even more proud is that thanks to this new section, we are reconfirming our ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability “.

The company plans to increase the frequencies from 3 to 7 circulations per week according to a predefined calendar: 3 starting from the fiftieth week of 2021; 5 starting from the eleventh week of 2022 and 7 from the twenty-third seventh of 2022. It will also be possible to transport P400 semi-trailers, waste and dangerous goods, according to the European agreement that regulates their transport.
