They are Giandomenico Basso and Lorenzo Granai, on Skoda Fabia R5, the winners of the Rally di Roma Capitale, a race valid as a test of the Italian Rally Championship Sparco and the European Rally Championship. Behind them Andrea Crugnola and Pietro Ometto on Hyundai i20 R5.

The Capitoline race, as usual, enhanced the qualities of the best and most experienced pilots in the race, putting everyone to the test even for the heat on race days.

The victory in fact it went to the three-time European champion and two-time Italian champion Giandomenico Basso which preceded Andrea Crugnola in the race with Pietro Ometto on a Hyundai i20 R5. The driver from Varese dominated the race until the first test on Sunday when then, on the PS9 he launched the front left and made him lose more than 30 seconds. Fortunately, the advantage accumulated up to that point caused him to retreat only one position and from that moment Basso only had to manage the more than 20 seconds of advantage until the end of the stage.
Two Italian crews on the podium
A tricolor brace at the top of a competition with European validity that confirms the quality of our school and our tricolor championship whose protagonists once again proved to be the best in Europe. Third absolute place for the Hungarian Norbert Herczig, with Ramon Ferencz on Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo, followed by the Spaniard Efren Llarena, with Sara Fernandez on Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo. Polish Miko Marczyk and Szymon Gospodarczyk finished fifth at the finish, also on Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo.
Sixth, but third as regards the points valid for the tricolor, he placed himself Fabio Andolfi with Stefano Savoia on Fabia R5 with the colors of Aci Team Italia and Motorsport Italia. For the Savonaese a two-sided race with a first day definitely below his possibilities and a second day in a clear comeback that made him recover from the eighth position of the first stage.
